At Copper Row Barbers, we pride ourselves on our years of experience and dedication to the hairdressing and barbering industry. My journey began when I started as a Saturday boy at the age of 15, learning the ropes and developing essential customer service skills. It was during this time that I realised my passion for this industry and decided to pursue it as a career.
After completing my apprenticeship in hairdressing, I transitioned into barbering and eventually managed a barbershop in Bromley South London. This experience allowed me to work with a diverse range of clients, honing my skills and expanding my knowledge of different hair types and styles. Additionally, being located in Borough Market provided exciting opportunities to be a part of various creative projects, such as filming movies, music videos, and fashion shoots.
Driven by our passion and desire for growth, my two friends, Emma and Carla, and I decided to start our own business, Copper Row Barbers. We initially set up shop at Courage Yard and experienced great success for many years. However, due to investment developers buying the area, we had to relocate to Saffron Wharf in Shad Thames. While it took some time to rebuild our clientele, we persevered and once again established ourselves as a thriving and busy barbershop.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic presented unforeseen challenges for our business and the surrounding area. Our staff had to find other jobs, leaving only Emma, Carla, and myself to navigate through these difficult times. Despite the quieter business environment, we remained determined and made the necessary adjustments to keep our doors open.
As life progressed, Emma decided to embark on the beautiful journey of motherhood and left the business. This left Carla and me to continue building up Copper Row Barbers. However, after some time, Carla expressed her desire to retire from the industry, leaving me as the sole proprietor.
Although I contemplated exploring new career paths, my passion for hairdressing and barbering has always remained steadfast. With the upcoming rebranding, a new shop, and a fresh start, I am determined to make the new Copper Row Barbers a resounding success. Drawing upon my years of experience, knowledge, and the support of our loyal customers, I am excited to embark on this new chapter.
